Lots of tin bashing, where almost all the fields granted access to hangars. The Swiss were found to be very friendly to spotters and resulted in a pleasant trip. We also passed quite a few of the preserved aircraft that can be found easily, with the help of the European Military Out Of Service(EMOOS) book. Mostly Vamp's and Venom's with the odd Mirage, Hunter and Alouette thrown in for good measure.
On with the trip, after a hearty brekkie from Frankie & Benny's we were off to board G-EZFI for the flight to Zurich.

Arriving on time we then had an hour wait for the ever slow hire car team at Europcar/Alamo!
Finally on our way we headed out for a quick circuit of Zurich before attacking the days schedule which was now falling behind.

Our second stop was Dubendorf and the Museum. Unfortunately it was closed but we still managed to get access to the restaurant where most of Hall 1 can be viewed. A few more were had through the windows of the other Hall's.

Arriving at Mollis it seemed that all was locked up, however a friendly technician took it upon himself to open up the hangars for us. We were also granted access to the main hangar, however we had to wait which was taking up valuable daylight! So, whilst waiting we managed to read most of the inhabitants through the windows and made a hasty getaway!

Our first preserved stop was a Mig at the Military Megastore in Montlingen. The store was still open and the Mig easily visible.

Arriving at Altenrhein we found the Museum to be closed. However the owner had noticed us trying to read aircraft from the fence outside and kindly offered us access. Of course we accepted and cleared out the inhabitants in short order.
Further along we managed to gain access to one of the heli hangars and gleaned a few from the Zimex hangar including an Algerie PC-6.

So the end of day one, a pleasing total in the log so we stopped at a small restaurant for some food and a well earned pint!
Then was off to our accommodation for the night, the Swiss Star which was only a mile or two from ZRH. The rooms were adequate although I would have slept anywhere after 6 pints from the bar!
