Arriving at Saumur all was locked up bar the few on the ramp. On chatting to one of the pilots it turns out they were fellow Brits on the way back home from their latest expedition but were stuck there until the refueller had taken his two hour lunch break... This expedition saw them mark 100 years since some of the biggest aerial engagements of WW1 over the battlefields of Passchendaele, Arras and Cambrai. Sorigny had plenty on offer. One hangar was open but the chap there could not give permission to enter as he was waiting for his boss. Whilst waiting for boss man we looked at the other hangar, this was shut but had plenty of squinny holes. It was rammed full with ULMs but as most have the reg under the wing most went begging. A check back at the other hangar and the same chap was still waiting for the man so we decided to move on as there was only one or two we couldn't read from outside anyway.

There was plenty of activity at Romorantin. We started at the civil side and whilst we were looking over at the FAF gliders a chap from the clubhouse came over to ask if we were looking at the military side. You don't want to do that he said and gave us directions of where the forest gate was. Merci mon ami.
