A quick trip over to Slovakia for LB, Nay and Pogo for the show at Piestany and to get the museum done as it was closed last time we were there (even though it was scheduled to be open). This was unfinished business. So, a late afternoon flight once LB had finished his shift saw us arrive early evening on G-WUKL/W94481.
A quick rounder of BTS, Pogo hadn't been before so we checked out the stored Mil Mi-s

That was it, time to find the hotel. The Sport Hotel at Piestany. Cheap beer (€1.30 a pint) whilst Pogo cheered on his beloved Liverpool
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not a great start, locked in the hotel as they lock the front door and the key they give you does not work. We weren't the only ones either! Finally another guests key did work so we escaped being the stars of Hostel 17.
It had been raining all night and arriving at the show there was very little activity around. Upon talking to security they told us the show had been cancelled due to the weather. We were allowed to walk down what was left of the static and read most of the rest from one of the empty car parks.
Still at least we still had the museum we thought. Err, No. Their openings times are now from June - Sept and they were not opening today either. Second time unlucky here...

So, time to kill. A look at our online files and we soon had a few locations sorted. First up a bit of charity for Pogo.

Nitra was more charity but always the chance of something here. The L-39 was new to the collection since our last visit. The Kamov has gone though. The hangars were all shut with nobody about.

This little trip certainly didn't pan out as planned but at least we plugged a few more W&R gaps in Slovakia. Piestany, we will be back!
mildly interesting!
