Berlin to Poland - 23rd - 29th March 2016 Day 2

An early start for day 2, a lot of miles to cover and after a quick brekkie we headed to our first stop, Kyritz. All the hangars were closed, but a few had some nice windows on the front. We managed a small log here.

Next a small collection, the Luftfahrtmuseum Rechlin-Larz. It was still early and the place was deserted. A quick walk around found the following.

From here we headed for Ribnitz, however the outer gates were locked and the museum closed. We noted the opening times for a re-schedule at a later date. (open APR-OCT).

Next was Ostsee, again the place was deserted, so all we managed were the two lights parked outside.

On our way to our next stop we passed a sign for flugplatz! An immediate detour brought us to Guttin a few miles later. No need to bother the people here, the two hangars had nice large windows.

Likewise Danholm and Prora were also closed, so that's two more locations to come back for! Whilst at Prora a solitary chopper flew over.

On to Peenemunde, we asked in the only place open if we could wander down to take a picture of the Beagle. But that was a no go. So we had a little drive around to the other bits on the field. No trouble with those.

It was getting late now, so we arrived at Anklam as the sun was going down. We settled for the preserved bits at the Otto Lilienthal Museum and left the closed hangars for another day.

All that was left was to head for our hotel, which was across the border into Poland. Not too far to drive, but an hour and a bit wait for the seven minute ferry crossing. Needless to say the time passed quickly as we watched the local Wild Boar run around the cars!

A fair old drive for the day, 1052km's, and the Skoda was doing well too, ramping up almost 900km's on a tank. Not bad for around £50 of diesel.
